Watercolor Editorial Illustrations - The Burst Of Water & Color

water and color watercolour

My new creations, which involve only water and color:
editorial watercolor illustrations for magazines and newspaper articles.
As I mentioned in the post about editorial illustrations in my prevoius posts:
These days editorial illustrations extended beyond the world of politics or cartoons as it was in previous years. Now, online newspapers and magazines like to utilize artist's creativity and supply their articles with colorful editorial illustrations (and quite often the watercolor illustrations are leading in comparison with digital or acrylic illustrations) in order to highlight a conceptual element to engage readers fully into the information that article is delivering.

I let my imagination go wild and created many splashes of watercolors, including strong and beautiful words:

I guess, I just followed my LOVE & PASSION to paint in watercolor with the believe that my watercolor editorial illustrations for sure will engage the readers of magazines and newspapers; that they would invite the readers into a written word, supplied with splashes of watercolor silhouettes.

And for seasonal type of editorial illustrations, I've welcomed fall into my watercolors:

I've also created two cute trees that indicate the Beginning of Fall:

By now I have three special galleries that are devoted to editorial choices:

All three of these galleries contain creative artworks from abstract to detailed realism to add a lot to an article or a blog post.

Editorial Illustrations in Watercolor - Farmers Market Theme

watercolor watercolour by Irina Sztukowski

It is easy to be creative when you have pencil, brush, and watercolor right at your side. It was even easier for me after I visited our local farmers market and fresh idea popped into my head as fresh as their vegetables and fruits there.

I decided to imply my artist's skills into editorial illustration design; and, I created this cute alphabet made of healthy and delicious veggies.

All of them, by the way are my favorite to eat.

First I've created three letters:
Peppery A
Beet - ery B
and Super Cute Bell Pepper - C:

The rest of the letters were just popping and popping for those  watercolor editorial illustrations as if they were waiting for me on the shelves of Farmers Market booths.

Having three very affordable farmers markets nearby, I created this sign that is quite important these days to support the local communities:

Then, one customer of mine asked me to create LOVE TO EAT sign for her kitchen decor. She ordered it on my illustrator website Irina Sztukowski Editorial Illustrations

And I was delighted to create another editorial illustration, Farmers Market, made of sweet radishes, cucumbers, beans, and celery :)

For vegan foods lovers, I've created a sign:

Basically, I've created whole alphabet and made it  possible for customers to order their own signs whatever they feel would look great at their Farmers Market booth, newspaper or magazine articles, cafe or restaurant decor; or, even in the kitchen interior:

All those signs and a cute alphabet for editorial illustrations are in my Food Illustrations Gallery.

Delicious Still Life Paintings - Decorative and Classic

Here are some fruits of my labor. For the last month or so I was working on watercolor paintings for one European company. The original illustrations will be used for new line of yogurt products. When the products are on the shelves of the stores, I will definitely share the photos.

But this post presents some new decorative artworks with those delicious fruits and more. I was fortunate to have an opportunity to paint also sweets this time. The still life with Chocolate and Caramel shows two of my guilty pleasures in one artwork.

Also my recent paintings include Pear Still Life, Still Life With Plums, and Hazelnut watercolor artwork:

The still life paintings above are created in decorative manner. The background is more semi-realistic and these paintings are unified with one particular stile, where I mixed up the realistic approach with "washed off" background.

Versus, for example,  collection of my classical still life paintings, where you can see that each detail of the background is organically fits into a Classic Old Masters approach:

Month Of August Bestselling Paintings

art that sells watercolor paintings

I would like to share here what kind of paintings from my website www.artirina.com were selling in August. I was curious to discover that there were some distinguished themes from customers of different locations that loved purchasing artworks. Maybe it is influence of the Summer and sunshine, but the paintings that my Art Collectors loved and purchased in August can be surely divided into a four or five subject matters; and most of them are kind of sun-shiny :).

Sun Francisco scenes were quite popular, as well as Bay Area in general:

I was glad to see that Floral Art from my Gallery was very popular among the month of August Bestsellers:

It seems that Sunflowers Art was surely dominating. Maybe it is because those gorgeous flowers are started to be seen in the fields in the month of August.

The next group of bestselling art I wanted to talk about is the one that I call Delicious. Art Collectors from different states picked up my fruits and berries from my garden Gallery:

Travel series were also popular. My customers were traveling from San Francisco Bay Area, to Russia and to Italy:

And I am surely glad that art for children was also quite popular in the month of August, especially my series of Wizard Of Oz paintings. I am so glad that they will decorate some child's room and bring light and happy feelings into the interior:
