Pleasant Hill Downtown Park - Plein Air Trip
In research of beautiful places to paint and taking advantage of a cooler Summer day, I've discovered a sweet little garden right in downtown Pleasant Hill, California. These cute turtles that were sunbathing on a wooden float and graceful gazebo attracted my artistic eye and became a great subject for a plein-air session. Painting on a spot is always fun and somewhat challenging. I also used a mixed technique in this painting. Starting with watercolor pencils, then moving to watercolors, and finishing all with black ink touch, it was quite interesting illustrating project.
